Our Core Commitment: We Don't Store Your Data

Your privacy is paramount. Shopimate is designed around a simple principle: we process your data to power the assistant, but we do not permanently store it.

  • Your product catalog and inventory data is held only in temporary memory during your active session — once the session expires, it is permanently deleted. We have no database of your products.
  • Your chat conversations exist only for the duration of the session. We do not log, archive, or mine them.
  • Website screenshots captured for the preview are temporary files deleted when the session expires.
  • We have no persistent storage of your store data. When your session ends, your data is gone — completely and irreversibly.

We understand that if merchants trust us with access to their inventory and store information, we must treat that data with the highest standard of care. That starts with not keeping it.

Who We Are

Shopimate is a product of Runwell Systems, a software company building AI-powered tools for e-commerce. When we say “Shopimate,” “we,” or “us” in this policy, we mean Runwell Systems and its Shopimate product.

What We Process

We process the following data transiently — meaning it exists only in memory during your session and is never written to a permanent database:

Merchant Data (transient)

  • Store URL and publicly available store information
  • Product catalog data (names, descriptions, prices, images) — held in memory only
  • Website screenshots — temporary files, auto-deleted with session

Shopper Data (transient)

  • Chat conversation content — exists only during the active session
  • Device type and browser information (for widget rendering)

Data We Do Store

  • Email address (waitlist signup only — with your explicit consent)
  • Brand voice and configuration preferences (for merchants with active accounts)

How We Use Your Data

  • To power the AI shopping assistant and provide product recommendations
  • To process conversations through our AI provider (Google Gemini) for generating responses
  • To improve product discovery and search relevance
  • To send waitlist updates and product communications (with your consent)
  • To monitor service health and prevent abuse

AI Processing

Shopimate uses Google Gemini to power conversational AI features. When a shopper chats with the assistant:

  • Conversation content and relevant product data are sent to Google's API for processing
  • Google processes this data under their Gemini API Terms of Service
  • Under the Gemini API terms, your data is not used to train Google's models
  • We do not store conversation data at all — it exists only in memory during your session

Data Security

  • All data is encrypted in transit (TLS/HTTPS)
  • Store and product data is processed in-memory only — there is no “data at rest” to protect because we don't persist it
  • We run on isolated infrastructure with strict access controls
  • We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties — period

Data Retention

  • Product & inventory data: In-memory only. Automatically purged when your session expires (2 hours). Never written to disk or database.
  • Chat conversations: In-memory only. Deleted with the session. No logs, no archives.
  • Screenshots: Temporary files, auto-deleted with session expiry.
  • Waitlist emails: Stored until you unsubscribe or request deletion.
  • Merchant accounts: Retained while active; deleted within 30 days of account closure.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Delete your data on request
  • Export your data in a portable format
  • Withdraw consent for marketing communications at any time

GDPR Compliance

For users in the European Economic Area, we process data under legitimate interest (providing the service you requested) and consent (marketing communications). You may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority if you believe your rights have not been respected.

Cookies

Shopimate's landing page and demo use minimal cookies strictly necessary for functionality (session management). We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising pixels.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as our product evolves. Material changes will be communicated via email to registered users and posted here with an updated date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
